Intimate skin is a research pavilion inspired by elements from selected nature species. We were focused on sea urchins exoskeleton “Echinus esculentus” and the study of her natural material and structural build process. Using a microscope, we looked into the plenty of room at the bottom. From there we learned her basic emergent behaviour and created a new space building mechanism using visual coding. With this mechanism we generated new spatial and tectonic associations for the initial concept. The intention of the concept was customisation of general user intimacy in public. By playing with various porosities, we developed a skin that allows you to enter your own privacy in almost any public space.
